At this year's 33rd annual Libušín Battle, prepare for a chilling encounter with the darkest corners of human history – we are opening an exhibition of Capital and Torture Law for you, where the air grows heavy with the scent of fear and the echoes of ancient suffering!

This year’s edition is once again special in some way. We have decided to look deeper into the stream of time and commemorate the "fateful twenty-sixes" – years that, over a span of a thousand years, carved the foundations of the Czech state.

The program for this year’s event continues the traditions established by Bitva Libušín over the past 33 years. A key focus will once again be archery, an essential part of historical warfare and daily life.

At the Battle of Libušín 2026, Digladior is preparing a special Friday professional program for performers focused on historical combat, practical training, and a deeper understanding of selected topics. This block is intended for those who want to take away more than just the experience of the event from Libušín — concrete inspiration, new knowledge, and a more practical perspective on historical combat.

This year, the Battle of Libušín 2026 will also offer performers a professional Friday program focused on historical combat and its practical interpretation. It will be led by Digladior, one of the largest schools of historical fencing in the Czech Republic, which has long been dedicated to European historical martial arts, teaching, seminars and popularizing this field.

As part of this year's 33rd year of the Battles of Libušín festival, the Combat Fencing Tournament will once again take place. The fencing tournament is a competition in medieval fencing, where the opponent's hits made with the correct technique are counted.

The Libušín 2026 Festival will start 18. April and will offer more than just medieval combat this year. In this edition, we are returning to the very roots of our statehood. The festival will host one of the most prestigious European reenactment projects – the Roman Legion X Gemina Pia Fidelis, under the leadership of Ladislav Wothan Tomič.

This year's Libušín Battle will bring not only historical atmosphere but also fantastic musical experiences. As part of the festival's accompanying program, the band Lucrecia Borgia will perform, known for their unique blend of historic music and rock sound.

The 1991 Legacy: It has been over a thirty-year journey since the founding of this festival, during which a daring experiment evolved into the world’s largest living chronicle of the Middle Ages. This year, we celebrate the "Christly" 33rd year of the battle, and the program will once again be unique!

You no longer have to travel to distant lands to get to know the tastes and treasures of the Orient, the sweet smell of incense, the smell of hookahs and teas of strange flavors. That wandering caravan of tea trees from the Orient strayed to us!

Battle Libušín is a fascinating phenomenon that organically combines the raw authenticity of the historical life of our ancestors with a grand scenic spectacle on a single field.
