Fencing Tournament 2026

As part of this year's 33rd year of the Battles of Libušín festival, the Combat Fencing Tournament will once again take place. The fencing tournament is a competition in medieval fencing, where the opponent's hits made with the correct technique are counted. The winner of the duel is the one who collects the most points within the framework of traditional fencing techniques, or hits the opponent 3 times in a way that would be fatal in a real fight. Everything is judged by qualified professional judges, of course.

This year too, you will see opponents from different periods of the Middle Ages fighting each other and you will be able to compare different schools of fencing, different period tactics and different concepts of fencing as it changed and developed during the Middle Ages. Opponents will fight each other in the disciplines: duel, 2 vs 2 and in a special very attractive group category Bridges 5 vs 5. The tournament will be held in an elimination knockout format, the ranking of which will be determined by a fair draw.

Don't miss the tournament that will showcase the exceptional art of fencing techniques performed by warriors from various periods of the Middle Ages. The festival program will include the tournament on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The final of the top category Mosty 5x5 will take place at approximately 2:30 p.m.
