Friends, comrades, spectators, brothers-in-arms, our dear women and children!
The dust on the fields of Libušín is slowly settling, the dents on our shields are fresh, and the spirit of the year just passed still echoes in our hearts. This year’s Battle Libušín 2025 was exceptional in many ways. I was deeply moved to see how many of you—both performers and spectators—belong to a generation that never knew the times "before the battle." For me, this is an immense responsibility. Our goal this year was to revive that "good old spirit of Libušín" that we veterans remember so fondly, and I believe that together, we have succeeded.
Battle Libušín is a living organism created by you—dozens of top-tier historical fencing groups and hundreds of participants from home and abroad. My role as an organizer is primarily that of a connector, someone who provides opportunities. I am proud of our entire Organizing Team and of the fact that we were able to give space to new ideas this year, including a long-overdue spotlight on the Early Middle Ages. If you feel you have something to offer, if you want to enrich the festival with your own skill or initiative, do not hesitate to reach out. Our gates are open to all who honor tradition and wish to tell history alongside us.
And why are we already talking about 2026?
Because something truly extraordinary awaits us. The next edition—the 33rd in total—will be a celebration of incredible anniversaries that shaped our nation. We will celebrate the "Three Fateful Twenty-Sixes"—1,000 years, 900 years, and 600 years since the events that wrote our history. Preparations for this historical masterstroke begin this very second.
Thank you all for your massive attendance, for the energy you brought to Libušín, and for the trust you place in us. It is our greatest motivation to prepare a spectacle for 2026 that will be remembered for the next thirty years—one that participants and spectators alike will thoroughly enjoy.
